Alison Pegram
Managing Principal Consultant
Alison has worked on many large scale oil and gas offshore projects, offshore and onshore, undertaking risk assessments and providing risk management advice to oil majors, NOCs, and smaller companies to facilitate their communications with regulators regarding safety and integrity of operations.
She has managed projects for major operators worldwide, whilst also engineering solutions to reduce field development costs by appropriate configuration of proven technology.
Her wide experience in the identification and evaluation of risks is a key input to RMRI’s consulting services in energy transition. Alison has a 1st class degree in Mathematics, a PhD in Engineering, and is also a Chartered Engineer and Fellow of IMarEST.
Dominic Minty
General Manager, Managing Principal
Dominic has worked in the energy sector in a variety of projects for oil majors, NOCs, and start-ups and mainly in offshore oil and gas.
More recently, he has focused on the energy transition where he has broad knowledge of the techno-economic implications of transition pathways based on CCUS.
Further, he has worked with clients to develop innovative new ventures, concept to implementation, market analysis, and technological and financial appraisal . Dominic holds an MSc in Oil and Gas Management, with strong focus on energy transition, and is also CIMA qualified.
Paul Dinham
Managing Principal Consultant
Paul’s experience is in the energy sector, initially undertaking project research and evaluation of marginal field opportunities and specific applications of gas-to-wire before more recently, focusing on energy transition.
For RMRI, he has led this initiative evaluating new technologies, devising strategies for clients, and managing multi-disciplinary project teams required in the development and implementation of low-carbon technologies.
Paul holds a BSc in Geology and an MSc in Petroleum Geoscience and is a Fellow of the Geological Society.
Damian Minty
Managing Principal Consultant
Damian specialises in the development of energy transition projects and sustainable energy finance.
He has worked in several financial institutions including JP Morgan and Deutsche Bank and more recently has served on the Board of public companies in the energy sector in Canada and the United Kingdom.
His experience includes project assessment with respect to investment decisions, hydrocarbon licensing, strategic planning, regulatory compliance, financial accounting, tax planning, corporate governance and listing processes in the UK and the EU.
Damian holds a BSc in Computer Science and Management Studies and is a Chartered Accountant.
Dermot Grimson
Senior Principal Consultant
Dermot has extensive commercial, planning and regulatory experience in the renewables sector.
He was Chief Corporate Affairs officer at TiGRE Group, a start-up seeking to promote and develop gas to wire projects in UK waters.
Prior to that he was the Head of Strategy & Policy at The Crown Estate until December 2015, where he worked on UK offshore wind projects and the strategy to expand the offshore wind industry on the UK Continental Shelf. This involved marine planning, stakeholder relations and regulatory activities.
Previously he had a number of roles in Shell E&P Europe and at the corporate centre for Royal Dutch Shell in the UK where he was head of external affairs. Dermot originally qualified in urban planning and had roles in local authorities and the not-for-profit sector.
Ivo Dworschak
General Manager, Managing Principal
Ivo has extensive experience in the maritime sector, holding director, senior, project management and business development roles.
His 35 years varied worldwide experience spans from vessel design and specification, through EPCC to decommissioning, with firms specializing in basic design, shipbuilding and rig construction.
Ivo holds a BSc in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering, is a Senior Surveyor and lectures on various engineering subjects including state-of-the-art technologies and regulation.
Nikos Barbaroussis
Senior Principal Consultant
Nikos leads our activities in sustainable energy finance and has worked in many financial institutions including Rothschild, Merrill Lynch, Chase JP Morgan and Dresdner Kleinwort Benson.
He has wide experience across many sectors but especially in shipping, conventional and renewable power generation applying expertise in structured finance embracing debt, equity and their derivatives plus corporate finance. Nikos also spent 10 years in industry at Siemens AG in a financial role related to conventional power plants and renewable energy.
Nikos has a degree in Mathematics from Athens University plus a MBA from Imperial College.
Kevin Morrin
Senior Principal Consultant
Kevin is a highly experienced shipbroker who has worked extensively in the oil, gas and renewables sectors mostly in the North Sea and the Far East.
He has wide commercial knowledge of the marine sector, including business development, offshore shipbroking and marine valuation, and has had extensive involvement, over many years, in contracting agreements for the provision and support of service vessels and other large scale marine equipment.
Currently, he leads RMRI’s team on marine aspects of renewables and energy transition projects.
Peter Coward
Senior Adviser
Peter is a former Senior Tax Partner at PwC and has a strong corporate governance background as well as extensive experience in advising large multinationals on the structuring and tax implications of complex international transactions.
He has advised many major corporations throughout his career on the acquisition of projects, guardianship of investors’ funds and tax implications of complex deals and restructurings both nationally and internationally.
This experience is especially relevant to the energy transition domain and the wide variety projects being initiated and developed.
Fred Meth
Senior Adviser
Fred has been involved with many aspects of environmental management, having worked with industry, government and consulting. He has developed extensive planning and regulatory experience in the electricity generation and transmission sector, amongst others.
For over 10 years he led the Environmental Impact Assessment practice in AMEC’s Quebec office. Prior to this, he led a consulting office in Newfoundland, spent 10 years as the Director of Environment with New Brunswick Power and also worked with Canada’s Environmental Department.
Fred holds a BSc and MSc from the University of Toronto.
Kevin Taylor
Senior Adviser
Kevin is a Professor of Geoscience at Manchester University and a geologist with 30 years of experience in research, training and applications of subsurface interpretation, rock characterisation (reservoirs and seals) and mineral-fluid characteristics in geo-energy systems.
He has managed both industry and government-funded projects. Recently, his work has focused on the energy transition, particularly the geoscience knowledge needed to successfully develop low carbon energy systems such as suitable of viable carbon dioxide permanent storage sites.
Tasos Michael
Senior Adviser
Tasos is a commercial lawyer and financier with wide experience in many sectors and now, advising RMRI on sustainable energy financing.
In addition to the acquisition and leasing of large-scale equipment (and with particular but transferable specialisms in aircraft leasing and shipping) he is deeply involved in devising solutions to the complex issues of sustainability and sustainable energy finance which are so important in facilitating energy transition.
Tasos possesses a wealth of experience in the commercial, contractual, and legal and technical aspects of leasing and financing and advises shipping groups, airlines, banks, funds and investors on investments around the world. He has been involved in the purchase and sale of over $6bn of aircraft working with, consulting for, liaising with leading companies such as McKinsey, Onex Capital Partners, many ‘Flag Carrier’ Airlines, Airbus and Boeing and is currently, Chairman of Cyprus Airways.
