26th October 2023, the UK Government published its response to the Committee on Climate Change (CCC) 2023 progress report to Parliament. The report:
- Outlines progress made since the publication of ‘Powering Up Britain’ in March, asserting that progress continues to be made.
- Reiterates the government’s priorities, demonstrating that the UK will continue to have one of the most ambitious targets in the G20.
- Demonstrates the actions being taken this year, addressing the CCC’s main areas of concern and responding to the CCC’s recommendations.
- Demonstrates the progress being made towards Net Zero against the metrics outlined in the Net Zero Strategy.
